(Des Moines, IA) -- The battle against Alzheimer's in Polk County is hitting the roads. Broadlawns Medical Center announced a Mobile Memory Clinic Van. It will roll out this month. The van is outfitted with early detection tools, and the ability to take blood samples and send off to Mayo Clinic for results. It also has resources for families and caregivers. Anyone with concerns about a loved one, can stop at the van and talk to a memory doctor.
Services at the mobile clinic are free, insurance is not required. Broadlawns hopes to reach minority communities, which experience higher rate of dementia. Many go undiagnosed and untreated.
