(Ankeny, IA) -- A Des Moines man has been arrested in connection with a hit and run in Ankeny Sunday night that left a 14-year old girl with serious injuries.
The Polk County Sheriff's Office says 18-year old Mario Palafox-Manzano is accused of crashing into the scooter driven by the victim near northwest 94rth Avenue and Highway 4-15.
The suspect faces chages of leaving the scene of a serious injury accident and driving without a driver's license or insurance.
The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The Sheriff's Department says the arrest was made following video evidence and witness statements that led to the identification of the suspect.
He remains held in the Polk County Jail.
