(Des Moines, IA) -- The TSA is recognizing its agents at the Des Moines International Airport for finding an unusual item in a passenger's carry-on bag.
In a post on social media, the TSA says agents identified a foot-long hatchet inside a passenger's bag and quickly removed the hatchet and searched the bag for additional prohibited items. When asked why the hatchet was in the bag, the passenger said he didn't know it was there and had just driven from Alaska to Des Moines as part of a camping trip.
The passenger voluntarily turned over the item to TSA and continued onto his flight.
