(Des Moines, IA) -- Charges have been filed following two bank robberies in Des Moines last month.

Des Moines Police say 62 year-old Vincent Charles Chia was arrested Tuesday after demanding cash and threatening staff at Affinity Credit Union located at 1700 E. Army Post Road. Police say a 911 caller was able to provide a description of Chia as well as the direction he was heading when he left the credit union. Chia was eventually spotted on a City of Des Moines traffic camera walking in the area. Officers were able recover the stolen cash at the scene of Chia's arrest. He's being charged with 2nd degree burglary.

Police say 35 year-old Troy Allen Kifer is being charged with 2nd degree burglary in connection to the May 4th robbery of U.S. Bank located at 520 Walnut Street in Downtown Des Moines. Police say an employee was assaulted and cash was stolen during the incident. The investigation into the robbery found that Kifer had been arrested for driving a stolen vehicle. Evidence during that arrest tied Kifer to the robbery in Downtown Des Moines.

DMPD says the investigations into both robberies are ongoing.
