(Johnston, IA) -- Fire crews responded to a house fire in Johnston Monday night, and officials believe it may have been caused by a lightning strike during severe storms.

The Johnston-Grimes Metropolitan Fire District says crews were called to a home in the 6000 block of Blackstone Court around 8 p.m.

Firefighters were able to contain the flames, but the home sustained moderate damage.

Officials say a lightning strike is the possibly cause, though the fire remains under investigation.
