Omaha Fire Investigators say lightning caused a fire in a two-and-a half story, multi-family dwelling at 42nd and Cuming Streets.
On approach to the scene Monday evening, firefighters reported they saw smoke and flames coming from the roof and attic space.
Due to the heavy fire conditions and workload, an additional engine was dispatched to assist.
Two firefighters were evaluated and checked out for heat exhaustion while on scene.
Seven occupants and two dogs were displaced.
