In many of my interviews with President Trump before last year's election, we talked about the small US Navy and how it needed to be built up and fast. I reminded him that President Reagan had recommissioned older ships like the USS Iowa to ramp up the US Navy at speed and now apparently my prediction might be coming true.
In a Defense & Aerospace Report interview with Naval Sea Systems Command Vice Adm. Thomas Moore, he talked about ways to increase the Navy’s fleet from 275 warships to 355 warships. He said they were looking ship by ship and the first potential return is the diesel-powered aircraft carrier, USS Kitty Hawk (above).
