The purveyors of climate doom are at it again! Not content with telling us we have 12 years left to save the planet (and some Presidential candidates are saying ten), now Climate Central is telling us the seas will rise by six feet by 2100!
According to a study released yesterday, if climate change is left unchecked seas could rise by as much as 6.5 feet by the end of the century.
The study author comes from the land of my birth. He is Jonathan Bamber of the University of Bristol and he's specific! "We should not rule out a sea-level rise of over two meters (6.5 feet) if we continue along a business-as-usual emissions trajectory," he said.
That puts cities in Florida and Louisiana in the crosshairs. It also would include Los Angeles and the Bay Area of San Francisco so it's not all bad news! Yes - that's a joke. Don't email me about a joke!
"A sea-level rise of this magnitude would clearly have profound consequences for humanity," Bamber said.
