President Trump told the world yesterday that the US had received two phone calls from the Chinese regarding coming back to the trade negotiating table.
This followed tit-for-tat tariffs imposed by each country on the other last Friday. It started when China raised charges on $75 Billion of American goods in response to a threat of an across the board percentage on their goods starting next month. The President then responded by further raising tariffs on a whopping $550 Billion of Chinese goods. It seems that China has blinked. At least for now.
Clearly Iowa farmers are one group feeling the pain and today's Poll is all about that.
Trump is the first President of either side of the political aisle who is trying to force China to play fair.
