Hard to believe that the Hawkeyes defense were worse against the Cyclones than they were in Week One against South Dakota State, but the numbers speak for themselves.
They gained 150 yards, had three turnovers and their time of possession was a miserable 21.45.
When asked about the QB after the Cyclone loss, Coach Kirk Ferentz said "We're sitting here right now, clearly, we have to do better, and we'll reassess everything this week."
He was asked directly if Spencer Petras will start against Nevada on Saturday. "I didn't say that," Ferentz said. "I said he played the whole game. In my judgment, it was the best way to continue through this game, and gave it some, but I felt like it was our best opportunity. We'll reassess everything."
