Yesterday Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) called for the United States to use military force to take out Chinese assets in Cuba.
The Biden administration has confirmed that China wants to build a military training facility in Cuba. If they do, this means they will have troops just 90 miles off the coast of Florida.
"I support an Authorization for Use of Military Force to take out the Chinese assets in Cuba," said Gaetz while speaking in the House Armed Services Committee meeting yesterday. The committee was debating amendments for the National Defense Authorization Act.
“We should be a lot more concerned that China is functionally turning Cuba into a stationary aircraft carrier right off the coast of Florida," he added.
