Amazon's CEO Andy Jassy, has warned his workers who are resisting his "return to the office" policy, that "it's probably not going to work out for you."
Like a lot of companies with huge amounts of commercial real estate, Amazon announced a return to the office policy back in February, but there has been a lot of resistance.
According to Business Insider, Jassy said it was "past the time to disagree and commit" while answering questions during a recent meeting with employees.
"And if you can’t disagree and commit, I also understand that, but it’s probably not going to work out for you at Amazon because we’re going back into the office at least three days a week. And it’s not right for all of our teammates to be in three days a week and for people to refuse to do so," Jassy added at a meeting this month, again, according to Business Insider.
It's not just private companies! Last month, the Government Accountability Office gave testimony discussing the "21.5 million square feet of usable office space—conference rooms, team rooms, and offices—in the headquarters buildings of 24 agencies. During 3 weeks in January, February, and March of this year, 17 agencies' buildings were at 25% capacity or less." The bold was mine!
Do you think it's time for all remote workers to return to the office?
