An attempt to keep former President Donald Trump off the ballot in Minnesota failed in the State's Supreme Court last week, and it could have a knock on effect in other States where the same thing is being attempted.
The lawsuits seek to use the Disqualifications Clause, or Section 3 of the 14th Amendment.
"There is no state statute that prohibits a major political party from placing on the presidential nomination primary ballot, or sending delegates to the national convention supporting, a candidate who is ineligible to hold office," Minnesota Supreme Court Chief Justice Natalie Hudson ruled.
Now that does keep open the possibility that another attempt to keep him off a General Election ballott next November, might work.
New Hamnpshire also ruled in trumps favor and as his victories mount up, it might be difficult for other courts to ignore them.
What do you think? Will any of the efforts to remove Trump from ballots using 14th Amendment work?
