After a few days in Costa Rica, Bob and Holiday Vacations explored Panama over the weekend! Among Bob's photos, you can see the difference in the Panama City skyline from nighttime to daytime. they also stooped by the Panama Canal. The total passage time through the system is about 50 miles and 10 hours, but 8,000 miles and 2 weeks shorter than going around the Southern point of South America. They watched as ships entered and exited the Canal; each chamber taking about 10 minutes to raise or lower a ship 40 feet. The biggest ships can carry 14,00 shipping containers. There was also a Deere skid loader hard at work at the canal locks.
